We are seeking a Children’s Home Registered Manager to oversee the day to day operational running of our Residential Children’s Home in Ely . This is a full-time position.

The registered manager is responsible for supervising, supporting, and managing the other staff within the children’s home. They report directly to the Responsible Individual, Area Manager, Operational Managers and Directors. The Registered Manager is a professional with significant experience in their field and holds a qualification and registration in health or social sciences or social care management: They must have significant experience. The role requires a positive value base, a good understanding of social work perspectives and an ability to manage staff, environment and clients with complex and challenging behaviors.
The registered manager will supervise the staff within their line management, including completion of appraisals. They will ensure the cohesive consistency amongst the team. Most importantly they are responsible for ensuring the children’s needs are met, and that to the best of our ability they are happy. We must also ensure the environment is positive and the statutory or contractual obligations of FEVACA are met. The Registered Manager will review and ensure good standards of practice in recording and monitoring, liaison with other agencies, and contact with the local community. They are responsible for developing and maintaining a positive and ‘warm’ culture throughout the team and the service.
You will work in a multi disciplinary team of Deputy’s, Social Workers, Qualified Teacher and registered nurse all contributing to the placement plan and direct support with your young people. You will also have a dedicated team supporting the homes recruitment of staff.

You will report to the Directors and it is expected that you will complete successful registration with Ofsted, to become the Registered Service Manager of the service.
You will work in a multi disciplinary team with socials workers, qualified teacher, registered nurse as well as a dedicated team supporting with recruitment, employee relations, administration and finance/budgets. You will also have 24/7 on call support.

We aim to provide specialized quality care for children and young people, aged 13 – 18yrs, The primary role of our support workers is to make a difference to the lives of the young people residing in our homes. You will work on goals to assist them to live a happy and fulfilled life and one that teaches independence, promoting education and ensuring their health and well-being. We believe in engaging Young People in all aspects and decision in their lives, by working together we enable them to be in control of their future.
You’ll work with a tight-knit team of colleagues to build a relationship and trust bond with the young person living at the home. You’ll be supporting them in overcoming their previous trauma and learning to trust in adults again, along with the help and guidance of your colleagues.
Shift patterns are flexible and do vary based on the need of the home, our usual shifts can include 8am- 5pm or 8am-11pm. We do require staff to be available and cover sleep in shifts, this is for a maximum of three per week, unless you wish to pick up extra sleeps.

We are currently recruiting for a Social Worker to join our children’s home and supported accommodation projects based in Ipswich and Colchester. This role will include lone and group working with young people aged 13 – 18. The Social Worker will be working alongside the manager of the project, supervising the team of support workers whilst also acting as the key worker for the young people in your care. Each member of the team is encouraged to be creative within their role and group reflective exercises within the management team allow for continued personal development.
