Supported Accommodation

FEVACA provide supported accommodation to young people aged 16 and 17. Our service is tailored to the needs of even the most complex young people. We are very proud of our projects and the standard of support we provide. We have a very committed multi-disciplinary team that includes qualified Teachers, Social Workers and specialist support staff. All young people referred to us, benefit from the array of qualified staff. We have worked to successfully transition young people from YOI, mental health wards, children’s homes and more mainstream care arrangements through supported housing and into the community at 18.

FEVACA currently have supported accommodation homes spread across Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Essex and Buckinghamshire. All our supported accommodation will take a maximum of 4 young people, though some can offer a 1:1 environment: This gives the social worker in each house a very small case load, enabling them to get to know their young people very well and develop the FEVACA methodology. They are supported by a skilled support team which includes a member who focuses on Education and another on Health & Wellbeing.

All our supported accommodation projects are staffed with sleep in support at night so that we can respond to the crisis which often become apparent at midnight and require professional leadership.

Staying Close

We have stayed close to our ex residents since we opened in 2011. The relationships the young people build with staff are genuine and able to extend beyond the life of the placement. Many ex-residents have popped back ‘home’ for a cup of tea and some encouragement about their new challenges. We make sure that once a resident has moved on, someone in the team keeps contact with them to make sure they are settling ok and they are always welcome to visit the projects if they are in difficulties. For those who require an ongoing support service we can transition them to the community service.
