Job Details:
  • Job Position: Support Worker in various locations.
  • Pay starts: £12.02 (hourly rate)
  • Sleep in: £35 (p/ sleep in)
  • The usual shift is 9 am – 10 pm and with a sleep-in up to 3 times a week – supported housing or 8am-11pm & sleep in for the residential children home with a sleep in up to 3 times a week
  • However, this is flexible and different shifts will be rotated to consider for training and specific client requirements.

We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to join our Supported Housing Services.

The Role:

  • This role will include lone and group working with young people;
  • You would join a small  and friendly team.
  • The support team delivers a personalized service to young people, delivering day-to-day interventions and building positive relationships;
  • As a Support Worker building relationships with our young people is filled with opportunities to go out and engage in activities in the community, for example, going for walks, to the cinema, eating meals together, and watching movies when it’s time to relax!
At FEVACA we encourage every member of the team to be creative within their role and ensure group reflective exercises within your team to allow for continued personal and professional development.

All applicants must be able to commit to 39 hours and up to 3 sleep-ins per week.

We do consider individuals to be contracted for 26/30hrs hours and up to 2 sleep-ins per week. Our shift pattern is flexible, with the rota being released every 6 weeks and will be given with notice.

We are seeking a Children’s Home Registered Manager to oversee the day to day operational running of our Residential Children’s Home in Ipswich . This is a full-time position with an annual wage of £35 000

 

FEVACA is a family run Social Care organisation providing support and accommodation to young people across Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex and Buckinghamshire.

 

The registered manager is responsible for supervising, supporting, and managing the other staff within the children’s home. They report directly to the Responsible Individual, Area Manager, Operational Managers and Directors. The Registered Manager is a professional with significant experience in their field and holds a qualification and registration in health or social sciences or social care management: They must have significant experience. The role requires a positive value base, a good understanding of social work perspectives and an ability to manage staff, environment and clients with complex and challenging behaviours.

 

The registered manager will supervise the staff within their line management, including completion of appraisals. They will ensure the cohesive consistency amongst the team. Most importantly they are responsible for ensuring the children’s needs are met, and that to the best of our ability they are happy. The Deputy Manager is responsible for supporting the Registered Manager and ensuring the  overarching service delivered within FEVACA Children’s home.

 

They are responsible for supervising, supporting and managing some staff within their home.  They report directly to the Register Manager.

 

The Deputy Manager is a professional with significant experience in their field who holds a qualification and registration in social work or social care such as the NVQ 3 and is working towards the NVQ 5:  They  must have significant and developing understanding of social work perspectives and an ability to manage staff, environment and clients with complex and challenging behaviours.

 

The management of staff includes the  completion of appraisals and identification of developmental goals and training opportunities.  Most importantly the Deputy Manager, along with the Registered Manager is  responsible for ensuring the clients needs are met, the environment is positive and the statutory or contractual obligations of FEVACA are met, including the requirement to meet Childrens homes regulations 2015.

  • Assistance with general HR administration when appropriate, including of training and personnel issues when appropriate
  • Ensure employee electronic filing system (SAGE HR) is fully updated and maintained
  • Complete payroll and associated HR duties, use of SAGE HR
  • Support with processing time sheets in line with payroll
  • Updating pension records.

Learning & Development

The full Learning and Development programme was recently updated and includes a number of sessions including Safeguarding, FEVACA Methodology, Managing Challenging Behaviour and Education. FEVACA are proud to offer our high-level, comprehensive training programme to all employees, with sessions completed frequently throughout employment.

FEVACA have also supported staff through a number of formal qualifications. This includes, but is not limited to, Level 3 & 5 in Residential Childcare, Social Work degree and Mental Health Nursing masters. FEVACA will explore opportunities with all members of staff who show commitment and share our methodology.

Progression & Professional Development

At FEVACA, we invest in our staff and have seen a number of staff excel in their roles and move further within the company. A number of our Senior Management team joined as Support Workers or Social Work Assistants and have been able to progress in their roles, this ensures our methodology is apparent throughout the organisation.
