Job Description

We are seeking a Children’s Home Registered Manager to oversee the day to day operational running of our Residential Children’s Home in Ely . This is a full-time position.

The registered manager is responsible for supervising, supporting, and managing the other staff within the children’s home. They report directly to the Responsible Individual, Area Manager, Operational Managers and Directors. The Registered Manager is a professional with significant experience in their field and holds a qualification and registration in health or social sciences or social care management: They must have significant experience. The role requires a positive value base, a good understanding of social work perspectives and an ability to manage staff, environment and clients with complex and challenging behaviors.

The registered manager will supervise the staff within their line management, including completion of appraisals. They will ensure the cohesive consistency amongst the team. Most importantly they are responsible for ensuring the children’s needs are met, and that to the best of our ability they are happy. We must also ensure the environment is positive and the statutory or contractual obligations of FEVACA are met. The Registered Manager will review and ensure good standards of practice in recording and monitoring, liaison with other agencies, and contact with the local community. They are responsible for developing and maintaining a positive and ‘warm’ culture throughout the team and the service.

You will work in a multi disciplinary team of Deputy’s, Social Workers, Qualified Teacher and registered nurse all contributing to the placement plan and direct support with your young people. You will also have a dedicated team supporting the homes recruitment of staff.

• Good standard of written and verbal English, including report writing and assessment skills.
• A knowledge of the regulatory framework for the field
• The completion of the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services in the children and young people’s residential management pathway or equivalent

We are seeking a Residential Service Manager to oversee the day to day operational running of our Residential Supported accommodation in Ipswich and Colchester . This is a full-time position.

As the Service Manager you will be responsible for leading, inspiring your team and putting the tools in place to ensure the services are safe, caring, effective and well-led, whilst complying to the new Supported Accommodation Regulations. You will report to the Directors and it is expected that you will complete successful registration with Ofsted, to become the Registered Service Manager of the service.

You will work in a multi disciplinary team with socials workers, qualified teacher, registered nurse as well as a dedicated team supporting with recruitment, employee relations, administration and finance/budgets. You will also have 24/7 on call support.

Duties include:

• Protect clients from threats to their health, welfare and normal development, both from inside and outside the home, encourage them to be cared for so they may thrive and be happy
• Ensure that key stages in the stay of clients such as admission and discharge are properly managed and reflect decisions recorded in care plans.
• Ensure that clients facing crises and stresses are offered appropriate additional support.
• Manage, support and motivate the Supported Accommodation team, conducting supervision and appraisals and ensuring provision for staff development
• Recruitment and management of staff within service lines
• Ensure monitoring, measure and report on all operational issues within agreed formats and timescales, including opportunities and development plans

A little bit about you

Essential

• Working experience in area or relevant to children residential social care
• Evidence of continuous and relevant professional development
• Good understanding of the following legislative frameworks: Supported Accomodation Regulations, Health and Safety/ Fire Safety, Safeguarding, Employment Law and Data Protection/ GDPR
• Experience leading and supervising teams.
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (Driving to various projects across counties will be a requirement)
• Ability to represent the organisation to external bodies and members of the community.
• Willingness to work flexibly
• Ability to manage workload, self-motivate and deliver to deadlines
• Willingness to complete direct work and shifts including sleep in’s, weekends and bank holidays, when absolutely necessary.

Duties Include:

• Protect children from threats to their health, welfare and normal development, both from inside and outside the home.

• Participate, develop and implement support plans, ensuring their suitability and success are reviewed; including the delivery of the outcome star.

Job Description:

 We seek caring, compassionate and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our team.

We aim to provide specialized quality care for young people, aged 16– 18yrs, The primary role of our support workers is to make a difference to the lives of the young people residing in our homes. You will work on goals to assist them to live a happy and fulfilled life and one that teaches independence, promoting education and ensuring their health and well-being. We believe in engaging Young People in all aspects and decision in their lives, by working together we enable them to be in control of their future.

You’ll work with a tight-knit team of colleagues to build a relationship and trust bond with the young person living at the home. You’ll be supporting them in learning key skills to live as independent person and supporting them as they progress into young adults.

 Shift patterns are flexible and do vary based on the need of the home, our usual shifts can include 9am-10pm. We do require staff to be available and to cover sleep in shifts, this is for a maximum of three per week unless you wish to pick up extra sleeps.

Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Social Worker to join our children’s home and supported accommodation projects based in Ipswich and Colchester. This role will include lone and group working with young people aged 13 – 18. The Social Worker will be working alongside the manager of the project, supervising the team of support workers whilst also acting as the key worker for the young people in your care. Each member of the team is encouraged to be creative within their role and group reflective exercises within the management team allow for continued personal development. FEVACA can offer a fantastic and intensive learning programme which will develop individual skills in sessions including Safeguarding, Attachment Theory, Reflective Practice, Motivational Interviewing and much more. Our qualified, multidisciplinary team of Social Workers, Teachers and Health Practitioners ensures every member of the team is supported with regular supervision and team meetings. Duties include:

• Contribute to and implement the internal training package.
